Open standard. Closed runtime. Governed certification.
Sigma Stratum publishes the Sigma Runtime Standard (SRS) and accepted Sigma Runtime Improvement Proposals (SRIPs) as a public specification layer for independent implementation.
Sigma Runtime as an operated product, including sigmaruntime.com, proprietary runtime code, private modules, ALICE internals, runtime telemetry, production memory/control mechanisms, private datasets, product UX, commercial deployment topology, support, SLA, and enterprise deployment assets remains proprietary.
Sigma marks, certification language, badges, and official compatibility claims are governed surfaces. Commercial runtime assets are separately licensed.
For the active policy layer, see:
The SRS/SRIP public specification layer is open for independent implementation under the public specification terms stated in the applicable document.
You may build, publish, and sell an independent implementation of public SRS/SRIP normative requirements under the public specification terms.
Machine-readable SRS artifacts such as schemas, validators, examples, conformance fixtures, SDK examples, and reference test materials may be licensed under Apache License 2.0 where explicitly marked.
If a machine-readable artifact has no explicit separate license, the document-level license remains authoritative.
Research-origin materials remain governed by their per-document licenses.
Some research documents are available under CC BY 4.0. Other foundational or protected-origin research materials are available under CC BY-NC 4.0 unless the document states otherwise.
Commercial use of CC BY-NC research-origin materials requires separate authorization.
Public SRS/SRIP normative text may describe requirements, concepts, interfaces, or conformance surfaces. Sigma Runtime product assets are governed separately.
Private runtime code, product deployment topology, ALICE internals, telemetry, datasets, memory/control implementation, support, SLA, and enterprise deployment assets remain part of the Sigma Runtime product boundary.
Sigma Runtime as an operated product is proprietary.
White-label, resale, managed-service deployment, certification, and use of Sigma marks require explicit written terms.
Sigma Stratum, Sigma Runtime, ∿, certification badges, Sigma Certified, Sigma Runtime Certified, and official compatibility language are governed by the marks and certification policy.
Attribution, citation, compatibility discussion, and independent implementation are separate from certification, endorsement, partnership, and use of Sigma marks as product identity.
A separate commercial runtime license is required for use of proprietary Sigma Runtime code, services, private modules, datasets, implementation artifacts, white-label deployment, resale, managed Sigma Runtime deployment, enterprise distribution of Sigma-operated runtime technology, official certification, commercial use of protected marks, or commercial use of materials licensed under CC BY-NC unless separately authorized.
A Sigma commercial runtime license is not required merely because an independent implementation follows the public SRS/SRIP normative requirements.
Attribution is required according to the applicable document license and attribution policy.
Citation of Sigma Stratum, SRS, or SRIP is source attribution, not official conformance status or certification.
